- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI5089, and is being issued as a Notice of Intent. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-04. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a small business concern. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339111, which has a business size standard of 500. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure scientific equipment from OPELCO to upgrade the base microscope Olympus IX 81 equipped for TIRF imaging. To upgrade the existing microscopy imaging systems is to 1) enable users to work with an automated XYZ Piezo drive state to perform time-lapse imaging and to acquire images in the Z-axis in millisecond time-frame to observe events in three dimensional space, and 2) to provide a heated stage for users working with mammallan cells. Because of the complicated nature of the imaging system, the equipment upgrades must be purchased through OPELCO to maintain compatibility. The following instrument and products may be acquired under this acquisition: Item/Description/ Quantity: (1) ASI XY motorized stage and Z Piezo, PZ2000-XYZLE-IX2 with a linear enclosure, qty-1, (2) Stage insert for standard slides 1-3010 (1?X3?), qty-1, (3) Stage insert for 35mm dishes for ASI stage, qty-1, (4) Neue Live Cell Control Unit, qty-1, (5) Neue Live Cell Chamber for manual and flat-top auto stages, qty-1, (6) Neue Lens Tube 30mm for manual chamber (lens to be modified to fit a 25MM working distance for IX2-LWUCD condenser) , qty-1. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: 1) price, 2) warranty, and 3) technical capability to meet required specifications. Place of delivery NIH/NIAID, Rockville, Maryland 20852. The government will award a fixed price purchase order to the responsible contractor.
