Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI5089, and is being issued as a Notice of Intent. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-04. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a small business concern. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339111, which has a business size standard of 500. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure scientific equipment and accessories from Solamere Technology Group, the only known vendor capable of providing an upgrade for the base microscope Olympus IX 81 equipped for TIRF imaging. To upgrade the existing microscopy imaging system is to enable users to work with additional fluorophores by adding the Krypton laser and its accessories, and to allow for the simultaneous acquisition of multiple fluorophores by adding the Dual View imaging system. Solamere Technology Group must be used as the sole source provider for these upgrades because of the specialized and unique nature of the confocal system and to maintain compatibility. Control units specially built by Solamere regulate the laser elements of the system; therefore any additional lasers and imaging equipment must be integrated into the existing system for proper functionality. The following instrument and products may be acquired under this acquisition: Item/Description/ Quantity: (1) additional optical sets (dual and triple band) for 457/514 ex, and 488/568/647 ex or other includes dichroic and multi-bandpass emission filters a with sliders, qty-2, (2) Dynamic Krypton laser (120mW) 520, 530, 568nm, or 568, 647 nm req 208 vac with remote fan and cabled remote control, qty-1, (3) mounting hardware for inverted microscope (camera and FW supports), qty-1, (4) 2?x 3? x 2? optical table top, mounting for AOTF, optics and multiple lasers include mirrors & dichroics for combining lasers, qty-1, (5) 8 channel AOTF, qty-1, (6) laser power meter, fast response LCD continuous output, analog volt output, qty-1, (7) dual image module (optical insights) splits image in two wavebands to single camera includes on optical dichroic cube and filter set FFltci Tritci or similar, qty-1, (8) HQ em band pass or long pass filters (chrome) AR coated and laser blocked, qty-7, (9) installation and training, qty-1. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: 1) price, 2) warranty, and 3) technical capability to meet required specifications. Place of delivery NIH/NIAID, Rockville, Maryland 20852. The government will award a fixed price purchase order to the responsible contractor. Copies of the aforementioned clauses are available upon request by telephone to Ms. Tonia Alexander at (301) 496-2607. Offers must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) July 26, 2005 to Tonia Alexander.
