Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to award a sole-source purchase order to The University of Montana, American Indian Disability Technical Assistance Center (AIDTAC), located at 52 Corbin, The University of Montana, Missoula, MT, 59812 for technical assistance on Native American tribal and cultural considerations. These services will enhance communication between SSA’s benefits planning, assistance and outreach (BPAO) program benefits specialists and disability recipients among the American Indians, Alaskan Native villages and Hawaiian Natives. This contractor is uniquely qualified because of its extensive experience in dealing with Native American disability beneficiaries. AIDTAC will provide expertise on disability issues as it relates to tribal and cultural considerations. AIDTAC has partnerships with other Federal Agencies to promote employment and independent living among Native American populations. These services will be part of the President’s New Freedom initiative to encourage people with disabilities to enter, re-enter, and remain in the work force. This is neither a request for quotation nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. It is SSA's belief that AIDTAC is the only source qualified to meet our needs. Interested parties that believe they are capable of providing these services can submit a capability statement to Valerie Wilson via e-mail at valerie.wilson@ssa.gov by 3:00 p.m., EST on or before July 14, 2005. The Government will consider all responses but a determination by the Government not to compete this action is solely at the discretion of the Government. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (08-JUL-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
