Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR CNC, 5-AXIS, BED-TYPE MILLING MACHINE. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions that were asked before the due date. Question 1.It states on line item marked 6 that spindle motor shall operate on 480 VAC, 60Hz 3 phase Power. Is it acceptable that the seller provide a transformer that has primary power of 480 VAC, 60 Hz 3 phase and a secondary power of 200/220 VAC 60 Hz 3 phase motor. This is very standard for the machine tool industry. Answer 1.The intent of this requirement is that the user will only provide 480V power to the machine. It may be transformed as necessary at the machine by the seller. Question 2.In line item 13 it states a CNC screen size of 11 inches is required. Standard CNC screen size is 10.4 ?. How is the 11 inch size requirement measured? Is 10.4 inch screen size acceptable? Answer 2. A screen size of 10.4" is acceptable. Question 3. In line item 17 it states the machine is to be installed in a minimum of 5 days. This is a large machine and requires much leveling, alignment and laser calibration for this reason can the installation number of day?s requirement be extended to 14 to 21 days? Answer 3.The requirement states a minimum of 5 days will be included. The seller may extend the period as required but may not offer less than 5 days. Question 4. In line item 21 it states the machine is to be delivered to Marshal Space center ARO 60 days. Is there any flexibility on this time period? Judging from the specification this machine will probably have to built by any machine builder so delivery could be any where from 6 to 8 months. Answer 4. The requirement stands. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on July 8, 2005.
