- The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award a sole-source contract, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Humansystems Incorporated, 11 Farquhar Street, Guelph, Ontario, Canada N1H 3N4 for support of the Marine Expeditionary Rifle Squad program. The contract will include facilitation of the Headborne System Subject Matter Expert (SME) Conference scheduled for 15-19 August 2005 at Camp Pendleton, CA. The conference will accommodate approximately 50 SME?s from all three active Marine Corps Divisions. The conference will support a near term Headborne System effort currently in progress and a far term Headborne System effort in the Science and Technology community. The conference will provide prioritization of user requirements and support critical trade-off decisions in requirements specification, and subsequent user testing and evaluation of candidate systems. Humansystems Inc. will be responsible for (1) Developing a listing of key requirement issues to in! vestigate with the user group, (2) Preparing the workshop software, (3) Planning the five day format of the conference, and (4) Facilitating the conference. Humansystems Inc. will analyze the results of the workshop and provide reports summarizing these findings for both the near-term and future headborne system development programs. Humansystems Inc. was selected as the sole source based on previously conducting an identical workshop for the Canadian Army and recognition as a human factors expert regarding infantry units. Additionally, Humansystems Inc.'s previous work with Marine Corps human system integration information and efforts will be necessary to support this SME Conference. No RFP is available for competitive bidding, however interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement no later than 3 PM EST on 21 JULY 2005 to Mr. Larry Gillman, larry.gillman@usmc.mil or Ms. Alice Pladson, alice.pladson@usmc.mil.
