- Work under this project consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, material and incidentals necessary for the construction of one new three bedroom home in accordance with the plans, specifications and drawings of a Category C Home, under the BIA Housing Improvement Program Guidelines. The project site is in Mayetta, Kansas. The estimated cost of construction for a Category C is between $25,000 and $100,000. Parties interested in submitting a bid may request a bid packet, after the date of July 11, 2005 in writing or by phone from the Contracting Officer, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Southern Plains Regional Office, P.O. Box 368, Anadarko, OK 73005. The Bid Opening will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2005, 3:00 p.m., in the Branch of Contracts, Southern Plains Regional Office, Anadarko, OK. Section 7(b) of the Public Law 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450E) and 41 CFR 14-1.354 requires that preference opportunities in employment and training be given to Indian/Alaskan individuals and that preference in the award of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaskan economic enterprises. Failure by the contractor to submit a plan for doing so prior to award and implement same after award shall be sufficient reason for non-award or termination of the contract for default.
