Description
With this announcement, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers  Chicago District issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for the Wolf Lake Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Project in Hammond, Indiana. The Contractor will be responsible for providing all of the nec essary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials and equipment to perform the following: hydraulic dredging for creation of wetland habitat; restoration of approximately 5,000 linear feet of existing shoreline to create a gentler shoreline prof ile; installation of native, live plant plugs and rootstock; control of predators and invasive species during establishment period; clearing three channels; installation of three culverts; maintenance of site cleanliness and safety; quick response to probl ems or issues; and protection of existing resources. The classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 237990 THIS PROJECT IS UNRESTRICTED TO BUSINESS SIZE. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to a ward a firm-fixed-price construction contract. The estimated price range for this project is between $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. The Request for Proposals will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Docu ment Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimum system requirements are a 486 based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater and 4 MB application RAM, 4MB hard disk space and compact disk driv e. Interested Contractors can download the Request for Proposal Package from Internet Site http://ebs.lrl.usace.army.mil/ebs/ by clicking on the appropriate solicitation number. The solicitation will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on o r about 20 July 2005. The due date for proposals will be on or about 23 August 2005 at 4:00 p.m. Chicago local time. Requests made by telephone, fax or email will not be honored. Award will be made to the offeror who submits the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable proposal.
