THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTES. NO FORMAL RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS AWARD WILL BE MADE ON OR ABOUT JULY 5, 2005 UNDER SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a sole source non-competitive procurement to HACH EnvironmentaI, Loveland, CO, for water quality monitors and accessories for our Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) at Stennis Space Center, MS. This non-competitive procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 based on special specifications of the required equipment. This non-competitive procurement is to replenish stock of same items. The HIF is responsible for testing, evaluating and approving numerous types of instrumentation and equipment for USGS use, as well as for other Federal Agencies. The HIF routinely stocks a multitude of instruments which are supplied by a number of different manufacturers. The HIF's customer base determines the demand for equipment purchased.
