- The Airborne Lasercom Terminal (ALT) program objectives are to: develop and field airborne optical communications terminals to support air-to-air and air-to-space communications with the Transformational Communications Satellites; provide 1-10 Gbps data rates as enablers for Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance and Command & Control missions; provide near-hemispherical coverage from the platform to the satellite; and minimize total life cycle costs.
