- Description
- The solicitation is amended to include the following language from the Statement of Work previously omitted and to provide answers to questions: 1. The solicitation is to retrofit (remanufacture) low voltage breakers used in 460 volt electrical panels. The required work will be performed on Federal Pacific breakers only of the same type and serial numbers. 2. The work will not require the contractor to be on site at any time. The required information from the breaker name plate will be provided, and the academy electrical shop will remove and install the breakers. 3. Currently we have 100 plus breakers in service or in storage. The number of breakers we have retrofitted will be determined by the quoted price for retrofit and the amount of funding made available. 4. The breakers will be made available for retrofit on a rotational basis. The FBI will initially provide four spare breakers of assorted models listed for remanufacture and upon return of those breakers, we will make four more available. 5. Each breaker will be completely re-manufactured to include braking the breaker completely down. All wiring will be replaced. All metal parts will be cleaned, re-plated, re-silvered, repainted or replaced. All current carrying parts will be re-silver plated and treated with anti-tarnishing agent. All phenolic insulation will be cleaned, re-coated and tested. All breakers will be re-assembled to manufactured specifications. 6. Each breaker will be trip tested to within a current of 90 to 100 percent of its breaker trip coil setting. 7. A solid state tripping device will be incorporated into each switch enabling the user to set parameters of protective limits. AC Pro is the current type in use on switches that have this protection. 8. Original ARC Chutes will be replaced with new non-asbestoes Arc Chutes. Each switch contains three each. 9. The contractor will be responsible for return packaging, handling, and shipping. The following question was received and the answer is provided: Question: Are the breakers electrically or manually operated? Answer: The breakers are manually operated with electrical charging motors. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (23-JUN-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
