Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared IAW the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-04 and DFARs Change Notice (DCN) 20050606. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 5084 and the size standard is 100 employees. NAICS is 423830. This acquisition is for Brand Name items only and is a 100% small business set aside. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (The award will be less than $100,000) will be followed. The Brand Name purchase will be for one (1) Model 637510 ? AccurShear, 3/8 inch capacity x 10 foot shear including:48? extended travel back gauge; 2 each 48 inch front support arms with recessed scales; 2 each T-slots machined into bed with recessed scales; 10 inch squaring arm in lieu of 4 foot; light guarding; rigging includes transporting machine from delivery point to installation point; electrical hookups at installation point; installation includes bolt down of machine, final assembly, tuning of machine, and operator training; and Freight FOB Destination Edwards AFB CA. Installation shall be in accordance with the Statement of Work detailed below. The contractor will be responsible for extending all required utilities from existing building systems to new pieces of machinery/equipment. The contractor shall be responsible for off load of equipment and placement into shop area including all connections at existing building utilities, connections to the new machinery/equipment and all work in between, including required conversion (voltage, amperage, air pressure, and water) to make the utilities compatible for a complete and usable turn-key piece of machinery/equipment. Delivery will require prior coordination with customer in order to obtain necessary access to hangars, machine shop areas and also for AFB visitor passes. Any and all dimensions supplied by the government, are approximate and all utilities need to be field verified by the contractor prior to beginning installation of machinery/equipment. For machinery/equipment installation, the contractor shall employ only those personnel who are thoroughly trained, are experienced with the skills involved and are completely familiar with the manufacturers recommended methods of installation. The contractor shall comply with industry, trade and federal standards, except when more restrictive tolerance or specified requirements indicate more rigid standards or more precise workmanship. The Brand Name Justification follows: The AccurShear Model 637510 is a fabrication machine used for bending metal parts. The AccurShear is the only known brand that can satisfy the Government?s requirement as it is currently in use in the sheet metal shop. It is imperative to maintain conformity with same type machine for maintenance, interchangeability of tooling and parts, and also no training is required. The tooling used by this machine is proprietary to the manufacturer and specifically unique to fit, form, and function necessary to the metal shop.
