Description
This notice is for informational purposes only. The Coast Guard is conducting market research in order to identify vendors who can provide commercially available boat davit units for a unique application with specific constraints: The government is considering replacement of outdated boat davit units on the existing Coast Guard 270 WMEC Class cutters. The equipment will include the port side boat davit unit and cradle located on the port side of the fantail. This will be a unique davit installation due to physical constraints and landing pattern of the HH-60J and HH-65A helicopters that will be flying directly over the new equipment. -- The boat davit shall have the capacity to lift, rotate, launch, and recover a fully loaded nominal 7.33-meter RHIB weighing 7800 pounds, in advanced sea states. This weight includes allowances for weight growth and boat replacement. -- The davit system shall include a SOLAS approved off-load release hook mechanism, or its equivalent. The government is considering different styles of boat/davit interfaces. --The total system shall include provisions for transfer of personnel between the cutter and boat when the boat is held at an interim position against the cutter hull. -- The system shall include a boat cradle. The boat in the cradle is height limited. -- If hydraulic power is required, the system shall include a hydraulic power unit for retrofit installation internal to the cutter. ? The Coast Guard is requiring all offers to furnish descriptive literature which can show that their product will meet or exceed the requirement as listed above. A copy of the standard commercial warranty terms to be furnished. Literature is required on or before 23 June 2005. Information to be furnished to U.S.Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, Attn: Patricia Dobbins, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226
