- The National Park Service is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) web site, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No paper copies of this solicitation will be available. NO PHONE REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION OR COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE ACCEPTED. Offerors must register at the NBC website to obtain a copy of this solicitation and to receive an electronic notification of any amendments. This service is provided as a convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Offerors are responsible for visiting this website periodically. No other notifications will be issued. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the Central Contractors Register (CCR) on the internet at http://www.ccr.gov.The solicitation package will contain the price schedule, specifications, drawings, and evaluation criteria to be used for the selection of a contractor. Solicitation documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML, and Adobe PDF. The specifications and drawings will be available in Adobe PDF format. Proposed Solicitation Issue Date: Approximately June 27, 2005. PROJECT TITLE: Painting the Main House at Oakland Plantation, Cane River Creole National Historical Park, Natchitoches, LA DESCRIPTION: The work of this project consists of substrate surface prep work; priming, painting, and finishing work including lime wash to be performed by the contractor for the exterior of Oakland Plantation's Main House, c. 1820's. This work encompasses painting the exterior features of the house as follow: veranda (gallery) ceiling and walls, soffit, fascia, gutters and downspouts, other painted ferrous metals, exterior walls and sills, balustrade/balusters and gates, non-historic hand rails, columns, non-veranda shutters, exterior side of windows and doors, wooden steps, birdcage, dormers' trim and sash (including interior sash and trim), new wood/metal post beneath house, electrical boxes and pipes, and brick piers. The work does not include stripping paint, veranda floor, veranda shutters, and brick steps. Type of Procurement: A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The government will consider an Offeror's technical capability in comparison to its price. Estimated price range: $25,000 through $50,000 NAICS code - 238320, size standard is $12 million. This solicitation will set aside for Small Business. All responsible Small Businesses may submit an offer for consideration.
