- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking sources for a totally web-based, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), software product that has the following salient characteristics: 1) Supports a nationally distributed online Community of Practice (CoP) of at least 500 members who are subject-matter experts and other team members who have a common purpose, common challenges, common resources, and practical solutions to share; 2) Offers an integrated solution combining collaboration software, content management, and online community collaboration tools that enable users to obtain community-wide information and advice more easily. This informational content may include documents, reports, discussion databases, and other text and data sources; 3) Provides capabilities for: collaboration, information sharing, global navigation, content search and retrieval, cross-referenced content and knowledge bases, threaded discussions, and access to online training & tutorials created by the HTML development tools discussed in item #6 below; 4) System Requirements: a) Runs on either a Sun Solaris or IBM Z-OS operating system; b) Runs in both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator browser clients; 5) Administrative Requirements: a) Provides wizard-based and/or command line capabilities for local administrators including the ability to: a) manage CoP site membership, manage member roles and permissions, manage user document permissions, create sub-communities and project work spaces, monitor site metrics and usage, and use templates to modify interface screen objects and ?look-and-feel? attributes; 6) Customization: Provides capability for interface customization using an integrated HTML development tool, or provisions to interface an HTML development tool. Section 508 Compliancy: Interested vendors must provide verifiable proof in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet the Agency?s requirement, see URL site http://www.ssa.gov/oag/acq/oagacq_508.htm. Respondents should indicate whether their software is available on GSA Federal Supply Schedules or any other Government-wide Agency Contract (GWAC). Please submit product cost and/or pricing data, inclusive of annual maintenance, with your response. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of any evaluated results from the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis or responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA?s assessment of capable sources. Electronic responses only must be submitted by June 27th, 2005. Faxed information will not be permitted. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. NO FORMAL SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED AT THIS TIME. The size limitation for email attachments is 5 megabytes. MS Word 2002 is the standard word processing software. Respondents should refer to SSA-RFI-05-1006.
