Questions that have been asked: Q. Please confirm the configuration wit h the following, 20 inch Inlet Damper,Transition PreFilter 1st Stage HEPA, 1st Stage Carbon, 2nd Stage Carbon, 2nd Stage HEPA, Fan. A. The configuration described is correct. Q. Do you want an initial set of carbon filter along with the prefilters and H EPA? A. We do not request a set of carbon filters with this order. Q. What is the purpose of these sample ports? A. The sample ports will be equipment with chemical detectors during operation and these detectors will be installed and used by ECBC. Q.Are t hey going to be used to determine is actual chemicals are passing through the filters? A.Yes. Q.If they are going to be used for In-Place testing, are you stating you want In-Place test chambers as part of the assembly? If you are not going to have In-Pl ace test chambers, how will you be able to test the interior HEPA and Charcoal filters? A. The specification states the type of testing ports that need to be included on the unit in section 3.6 and 3.7. These testing ports are in addition to the chemical sample ports. Section 3.6 states Static pressure ports shall be located on top of the filtration system; upstream and down stream of each bank of filter elements. Static pressure ports shall be one fourth inch NPT coupling. Static pressure shall be of t he same type material as the filtration system construction. Section 3.7 states DOP/Freon test ports shall be one half inch NPT coupling with plug. One DOD/Freon test port shall be located on top of the filtration system, upstream of the filter bank, for upstream sampling. Two additional DOP/Freon test ports shall be provided for field installataion into the ductwork. One port will be used for DOP/Freon injection and one port will be used for downstream sampling. DOP/Freon test ports shall be of the sa me type material as the filtration system construction. Q. Will we be required to perform an In-Place filter test prior to delivery? If not, how will you know that the filter mating frames will pass this required test? No, testing of the unit will be limit ed to the tests specified in section 3.12 and 3.16. 3.12 states The filtration system pressure boundary and filter element sealing surface shall undergo factory testing per ASME N510-1995 to 10 inches water gauge as specified in table 4-4 of ERADA 76-21, Nuclear Air Cleaning Handbood for all welded man entry steel housing construction. The maximum permissible leak rate is 0.2 percent of the housing volume per hour. 3.16 states Housing shall be factory tested by the pressure decay method in accordance with ASME N510-1995 to 10 inches water gauge as specified in ASME N509-1995, Table 4-4. Each filter position shall be fitted with a blank fitted with a blank filter and the filter-to-housing seal shall be tested by the pressure decay method in accordance with ASME N-510-1995 to 10 inches water gauge as specified in ASME-n-509-1890, Table 4.4. This information was in the ASFI combined synopsis/solicitation.
