Description
The U.S. Army, Office of the Project Manager, Close Combat Systems, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is seeking sources for a Non-Developmental Item for a non-lethal, man-portable device that provides an operationally effective capability for remote deployment of the M2 Vehicle Lightweight Arresting Device (VLAD) system. The device must be stand alone and require no dedicated support vehicles. The device will be capable of remotely activating the current M2 VLAD with scalability for follow-on larger VLAD systems from a distance of 300m (threshold); 1000m (objective) within 3 secs (threshold); 2 secs (objective). Installation of the device will require no more than two individuals in 15 minutes (threshold); one individual in 10 minutes (objective). The device must be capable of deploying the net across both single and double lane road widths on all ground surfaces (asphalt, dirt, gravel and sand) in all climatic conditions. The item sought must have an internal power source and the designs incorporate minimal maintenance procedures and potential failure points. The device should be mature enough to meet a compressed schedule for Joint Service fielding. Interested sources are requested to provide a capability statement which incorporates the capacity for manufacturing production quantities, including company name, address, telephone number, technical point of contact, item nomenclature, item description, and applicable brochure/literature. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey.
