Description
Purpose of contract: To provide the services of a registered X-ray Technician to the inmates at United State Penitentiary and/or Federal Prison Camp, Leavenworth, Kansas. Description of services required: Provide the technical expertise of a licensed x-ray technician for the Health Services staff and inmate population. Provide required documentation for inmates receiving x-ray services. Provide guidance and counseling in the development of procedures and quality assurance effect the radiology program. Provide continuing education to the Health Service staff in regards to taking x-rays. Contributes to written procedures for the radiology program. Exposure and processing of x-ray films, delivery of x-ray films to the licensed radiologist for reading of the same. Maintain all logs and record keeping requirements for the x-ray department. Maintain radiographic files; filing, transferring films. Work hours are performed Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The anticipated period of performance is 10/01/05 through 9/30/06, with three (3) option years. This solicitation is set-aside 100% small business and the NAICS code is 621512. This is not a personnel appointment. The award of the contract does not constitute an employee/employer relationship. The contractor will not be supervised, but will be monitored to determine if services rendered are in compliance with the contract terms and conditions. The contractor will adhere to specific rules and regulations of the department and institution. Any individual working within the confines of USP/FPC Leavenworth must undergo a background investigation and drug test prior to being permitted inside the institution. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be available on or after 05 July 05 and will be distributed through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site ?www.fedbizopps.gov?. The website provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available, except in extreme circumstances and only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. The government may award the contract without discussions, therefore, offerors are instructed to submit their best offer initially. All responsible small business sources are encouraged to submit an offer for consideration. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/bids equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
