Historic Paint Analysis at the Deshler Morris and Bringhurst Houses located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA. The Deshler-Morris House was used as the official residence of President Washington during the yellow fever epidemic and is currently a furnished museum. A paint analysis of the building was completed in the 1970's. Work at the Deshler Morris House shall include taking new paint samples to determine if current paint scheme is accurate, investigating wall surfaces for evidence of wallpaper usage in past, reinvestigating wood-grained wescot, and investigating entry doors. A minimum of 152 interior and 66 exterior paint samples shall be taken. Contractor shall provide a microscopic anaysis of these new samples and produce a written report documenting the analysis of the paint samples to determine the original colors and paint scheme for the building's interior. The Brighurt House, located adjacent to the Deshler Morris House was constructed in the 1750's but has been modified several times since. No paint analysis has ever been done on this building. Work to be done at this location is approximately the same as those listed for the Deshler Morris House. Magnitude of project is between $25,000-$100,000.
