Description

Notice of Intent to award single source award to River Partners to drill seed. River Partners, a non-profit habitat restoration organization, will be contracted with to conduct drilling, broadcasting, seed collection and processing. River Partners is the only organization in the local area capable of performing large scale grassland restoration activities. They have already restored over 800 acres of riparian habitat on SJRNWR as part of a CALFED funded project and are preparing to plant another 200 acres in the coming months. They have utilized a seed drill and broadcaster extensively on the Refuge, and have collected and processed large quantities of native forb seed for previous projects. Their expertise in native vegetation restoration, having equipment and labor already in place on SJRNWR (including a new Truax? seed drill), and local knowledge of the site will allow this project to be completed efficiently.
