The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior (DOI), is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. In accordance with FAR Subpart 15.300, the government will select the responsible offeror. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No paper copies of this solicitation will be available. NO PHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are required to register at the NBC website. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will also need to be registered at the above listed site. This service is provided as a convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Offerors are responsible for visiting this website periodically. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the Central Contractors Register (CCR) on the internet at http://www.ccr.gov. No other notifications will be issued. Solicitation documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML, and Adobe PDF. The tentative proposed solicitation issue date is on or about June 8, 2005. Title of Project: Replace Failing Historic Entrance Doors. Description: The purpose of this project is to obtain design and construction services from a Design-Build Contractor (DBC) to assist the National Park Service with the replacement of two pairs of failing wooden entrance doors and hardware with new, sustainable doors and hardware which serve as the primary public entrances to the Laura C. Hudson Visitor Center located at 419 Rue Decatur, New Orleans, Louisiana - Orleans Parish. The work consist of removing and replacing two unique entrance door systems with new doors and hardware which replicates the architectural style, features and finishes of the doors being replaced. Type of Procurement: A firm-fixed price contract will be issued with a performance period of 137 days for completion after the issuance of the notice to proceed. Estimated price range: $50,000.00 to $100,000.00. NAICS code 233320. The size standard is $28.5 million. This solicitation is Set-Aside for Small Business.
