Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole source acquisition with Kone, Inc. of Moline, IL, to repair and replace elevator equipment damaged during flooding of elevator pits at the Harold Washington Social Security Center, 600 West Madison Street, Chicago, IL 60661. Work required will include the replacement of compensation cables, steel access ladders and control switches, the removal of rust and painting of elevator support structures and elevator pit floors and walls, the relocation of elevator pit light switches, etc. Contractor will be responsible for providing all supervision, labor, materials, tools and equipment required to efficiently and satisfactorily complete the necessary work. Kone, Inc. is the subcontractor responsible for providing normal elevator maintenance under a facilities maintenance contract. Interested vendors who believe they are qualified to provide the services outlined above must submit complete details regarding their technical capabilities and expertise in writing to Nestor Floresca, Contracting Officer, by email at Nestor.Floresca@ssa.gov. Responses must be received by 3:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Information submitted in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining the feasibility of conducting a competitive procurement. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR A REQUEST FOR AN OFFER. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received to this notice. The Government will NOT pay for any information submitted.
