Description: Notice of intent to procure on a sole source basis an Applanix POS MV upgrade to V-4 system and related component parts. The Applanix systems are currently installed on the NOAA fleet, upgrade to this system is proprietary and as such the upgrades can only be completed solely by the manufacturer, Applanix. If this exact unit is not installed and the primary attitude sensor fails, the multibeam sonar that is used to map the coral reef will be unusable and the ship will have to return to port. Therefore it is in the government?s opinion that Applanix is the only responsible vendor. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by this agency.
