- The contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, materials, supplies, and supervision to perform interior work in the U.S. Customs Laboratory located at SPA Industries Park 204 Bourne Blvd. Savannah, Georgia. PROJECT SUMMARY: This work includes removal and replacement of approximately 128 square yards of carpet in the Laboratory Technician office area. Work also includes wall and ceiling repairs in the Front Laboratory Room. SCOPE OF WORK: Carpet Work The contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools and supervision to complete the following work: 1. Move, cover and properly protect furniture and contents as needed to access area for carpet replacement. 2. Remove existing carpet and threshold transition strips. 3. Remove 4? vinyl cove base to facilitate carpet replacement. 4. Scrape and properly prepare the floor surface for the application of new carpet. 5. Furnish and install approximately 128 square yards of 28 oz. carpet tile. Carpet samples shall be provided to the user for material selection. 6. Install all threshold transition strips and 4? vinyl cove base. 7. Move all furniture and contents to the original locations after work is completed. 8. Work area shall be cleaned daily and all construction debris removed from the site. Special Stipulations for Carpet Work: For the convenience of the contractor and the occupants, carpet replacement will be done after normal working hours. The scheduled replacement shall be coordinated with a US Customs official, who will provide building access. Wall & Ceiling Repairs Wall repairs include removal and replacement of lower sections of gypsum wall board and fiberglass insulation that have been water damaged. Damage considered, is on the south and west walls of the front Laboratory. The new drywall will be properly finished and then painted with a primer coat. The entire front interior wall and the adjacent west wall will be painted to the inside corner breaks (color shall match adjacent walls). A section of 2?x2? fissured ceiling tile and the vinyl cove base will be replaced as needed. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools and supervision as required for the following work: 9. Move, cover and properly protect furniture and contents as needed to access all walls for repairs. 10. Remove all wall mounted electrical devices and other items that interfere with wall repairs. These items will be reinstalled after wall repairs are complete. 11. Remove and replace approximately 200 square feet of Non-rigid wall/ceiling insulation 6? thickness. 12. Remove and replace approximately 190 square feet of drywall. 13. Tape, finish and prime new gypsum wall board. 14. Prep and paint approximately 520 square feet of gypsum wall board with two coats of Latex paint, to match existing colors. 15. Remove and replace 144 square feet of fissured mineral fiber lay-in ceiling tile. No ceiling grid is considered. 16. Reinstall 4? vinyl cove base on newly painted walls (replace cove base as needed). 17. Move all furniture and contents to the original locations after work is completed. 18. Work area shall be cleaned daily and all construction debris removed from the site. Special Stipulations for Wall & Ceiling Repairs: All work shall be scheduled and coordinated with the occupants. Since access to the building may be restricted at times, prior approval for access should be obtained for each site visit. All work will be performed during normal working hours. (07:30 A.M. to 5:00 PM) Extra dust control measures (protective barriers or other means) are required to minimize the potential for equipment damage. PERFORMANCE PERIOD: 30 Calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS SHALL COMPLY WITH CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS AND FAR 52-204-8 ORCA REQUIREMENTS.
