Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Washington Detachment, intends to award a sole-source contract to Badge Express, FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, to procure Duoprx II Magstripe PVC 1336LGGMN, for the Dahlgren, Virginia, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC). Use of the HID Duoprox II PVC badge is necessary for the type of system NSWC uses for its badges. HID Duoprox II PVC badge control system, which includes tenant commands, uses HID Readers. The HID Duoprox II PVC badge is the only badge compatible with the existing badge reader. The HID 26 bit card is open architecture with limitations on numbers available and require ordering from a licensed vendor. DOD SEIWG specifications per OPNAVINST 5530.14C, requires that all badges issued by DOD be duo prox, i.e. and have, both a chip and a magnetic strip. A Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared and approved. The period of performance is anticipated to be from date of award through 30 September 2005. The SIC Code is 7382. See Note 22. The solicitation may be processed following normal commercial item procedures in accordance to FAR 13.5. There is no solicitation available for this requirement.
