Description

The purpose of this announcement is to publish the Request for Information (RFI) from an interested bidder and the Government responses. QUESTIONS FROM THE BIDDER: 1. Is the vinyl that the Scope of work talks about wall paper or 1/16? hard vinyl? 2. Is the vinyl covering full wall or half wall? 3. Referring to vinyl cover walls, Will we have to float out all walls and texture? 4. Does the post abatement testing have to be conducted by a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIA)? RESPONSES FROM THE GOVERNMENT: 1, 2 & 3: The references are to typical vinyl wall covering like is found in many commercial and residential buildings. It is similar to wall parer but made of viny with a fabric backing. It will probably peel right off the wall with very little effort. Light sanding might be required to remove any dried wall covering paste that clings to the wall, but I don't think any thing else will be required. 4. All testing must be made by an independent testing laboratory and under the supervision of a Certified Industrial Hygienist. The CIH is not required to actually make all tests himself (herself) unless that is the laboratory's policy. As a result of this announcement, the Bid Due Date and Time remains the same at May 10, 2005 at 2:00 pm.
