Description

THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS! The 45th Contracting Squadron has a sole source requirement for a 3-way switch, 15KV/95BIL 200 3 phase way VACPAC pkg w/fault interrupting, VACPAK system packaging, Qty. ? 1 each. This is a Sole Source requirement with Van & Smith Co., Inc. IAW FAR 6.302-1. Van & Smith Co., Inc. is the only source capable of fulfilling the government?s requirement as the existing distribution system is made of Cooper switches. Due to the size and height of the Cooper switches, no other switch would be compatible with the existing system. The inability of the high voltage switches to function properly would have a definite impact on the reliability of the entire Patrick Air Force base electrical distribution system and could effect mission impact. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This item/service utilizes Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 3613 with a business size of 750 employees and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 335313. Interested firms may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. 45 CONS/LGCB has determined that Van & Smith Co., Inc. is the only source capable of providing this requirement.
