- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for an X-ray CCD camera and accessories NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Princeton Instruments under the authority of 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) Only one responsible source. The Government's requirements for the camera are: 1) Back Illumination - to provide sensitivity to x-rays down to 0.2keV 2) Efficiency at least 30% efficiency at 6 keV 3) Low noise readout: Less than 5 electrons rms @ 100KHz 4) Low Dark Current: Less than 2 electrons/pixel/hour @ -120C 5) Liquid Nitrogen Cooling to provide the low temperatures 6) WinView/32 software for Microsoft Windows 7) 4.5" Conflat vacuum open nose assembly 8) CCD Pixels 20 microns x 20 microns 9) Array size: 1340X1300 pixels (26.8 mm x 26.0 mm) This X-Ray CCD Camera meets an existing need and interfaces with existing software and requirements. Also, this camera must be compatible with other existing CCD cameras in use. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 12, 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
