- Description
- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 with Galvanon, Inc., 2500 Maitland Center Pkwy, Suite 100, Maitland, FL 32751 for a MediKiosk Patient Check-In Kiosk solution that will provide an interface from VA Pittsburgh Healthcare Systems existing scheduling, registration and patient accounting systems for a central outpatient registration area. The solution will consist of MediKiosk Hardware, Professional Services and MediKiosk Software with capability to address the increasing need of a rapid and reliable automated method to check-in of patients arriving for appointments at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. The VA primary method for self check-in was determined to be through the use of a computerized kiosk and the patient veteran identification card. The patient would swipe their card and their appointment information as well as financial and insurance information would be matched to any updates or other actions required during that visit. Based on predetermined responses to questions answered by the patient they would either be referred to a Business Service representative for further processing or directed to their first appointment. The patient will be provided their itinerary and directions to the various clinics. Upon arriving at the clinic patient would then use a similar kiosk to check-in with the clinic. Galvanon provides the hardware and software in an integrated system that meets or exceeds VA proposed self service check-in process and the system will support patient activity monitoring to track and graphically display workflow and patient wait times. Galvanon MediKiosk System also has developed a process for managing appointment reports, co-pay collection, patient check-in, way finding and positive patient identification. The North American Industry Classification System (NACIS) Code is 334119. If your firm has a comparable Patient Check-in Kiosk System which you would like us to consider, please submit manufacturer's literature and documentation that the system meets or exceeds VA requirements in writing no later than 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 to Kathleen.Grundza@med.va.gov or mail to Kathleen Grundza (04A1-H), VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Technical questions can be directed to Angelo Baiocchi, at (412) 688-6476 or Angelo.Baiocchi@med.va.gov. This is not a request for quotations or proposals. The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System will make a determination whether to issue a competitive solicitation based on any responses received.
