- The USDA Forest Service is evaluating whether to offer a long-term stewardship contract on the national forests of the Front Range of Colorado. The objectives of the contract will be to increase product utilization, reduce Forest Service project hazardous fuel costs, and provide economic benefit to local communities. The longer contract period and guaranteed supply of materials may enable industry to expand its capacity to utilize the forest products produced from Front Range vegetation treatments. The Rocky Mountain Region of the USDA Forest Service is publishing this Request for Information (RFI) for stewardship services on the Pike, San Isabel, Arapaho, and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. This RFI is issued for the purpose of obtaining information only and will be used to determine if a solicitation should be developed. It is issued as a draft to seek comments and suggestions from experts in industries that will assist us in meeting our ambitious goals for land management activities. This is a request for information (RFI) only as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The government does not presently intend to award a contract or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Although proposal and Offeror may be used in this RFI, your response will be treated as information only. It will not be used as a proposal.
