Description
Contracting Office: Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) IRIS, a US University Consortium, is seeking qualified companies interested in submitting a competitive bid to install up to 2000 seismic stations across the U.S. over a 10-12 year period as part of the EarthScope Transportable Array (www.iris.iris.edu/USArray/). This is a National Science Foundation (NSF) federally funded project that is in the implementation phase. Installation involves emplacement, system configuration, set up, testing and rendering operational IRIS supplied seismic instrumentation, power and communications systems at an IRIS permitted site that has had civil works completed. Eligible companies will have demonstrated experience in earthquake monitoring system installation with substantial emphasis on data telemetry methods using IP based communication over VSAT and wireless technologies. Our purpose is to identify eligible companies interested in submitting a proposal to install this instrumentation and equipment. Please provide company description, contact information, and a brief summary of experience installing seismic equipment for earthquake monitoring. The response should not exceed 200 words. This is not an RFP, RFQ, or request for bid. Submit expressions of interest to: response@IRIS.edu no later than 8:00AM (EDT), May 2, 2005. For additional information, contact: Candy Shin, Business Administration Department, IRIS, 1200 New York Avenue, NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20005, Phone: (202) 682-2220, Fax: (202) 682-2444, E-mail: candy@iris.edu
