Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a Single Source requirement under Solicitation DTFAAC-05-R-00026, for an Engine Condition Trend Monitoring System (ECTM) for eighteen (18) FAA-owned Beech-300 flight inspection aircraft with Pratt & Whitney PT6-60 engines. A contract will be issued to Altair Avionics Corporation (AAC), Norwood, Massachusetts. The statutory authority for this acquisition is AMS 3.2.2.4, Single Source Selection. The FAA publicized a Market Survey/Request for Information on the Internet on February 17, 2005 and received only two responses. As a result of the Market Survey/Request for Information, only AAC clearly met all of the minimum requirements of the FAA mission and has the necessary software and hardware for installation in FAA's BE-300 aircraft. The following notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
