Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Grain Marketing & Production Research Center, Manhattan, Kansas, intends to enter into a single source contract with Dionex Corporation, Sunnyvale, California, for the purchase of a Probot Sample Handling Robot System. This system is designed specifically to work in conjunction with a Government-owned Dionex Ultimate Capillary Multidimensional HPLC and software and the fraction collection process is coordinated and automated by the HPLC's control/data system. This system has the ability to collect uL and nL microfractions directly from the column of the capillary/nano multidimensional HPLC system and deposit those fractions directly onto a substrate. These substrates may be MALDI targets, PVDF membranes, 96-, 384- or 1536-well plates and microchips. This allows the device to be used online with a capillary/nano HPLC and deposit fractions directly onto MALDI targets and well plates while the HPLC is operating. The Probot is designed specifically for use with the existing multidimensional HPLC system, and the fraction collection process is coordinated and automated by the HPLC's control/data system. The systems requirements include the following capabilities: Robotic collection of microliter and nanoliter fractions from capillary HPLC system; Spot collected fractions onto MALDI target plates; Self-contained system with control software; Capability to add liquid solutions and spot onto a solid substrate; and compatible with Government-owned LC Packings Ultimate Plus HPLC System. *Provide Qualification Statement by Close of Business April 28, 2005, if interested in this procurement.
