Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI). The RFI is being issued for planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will not pay for information received in response to this RFI. PURPOSE: The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) seeks to ascertain information relative to current and/or future enhancements of optical tagging, tracking, and locating (TTL) systems. Optical is defined as ranging from ultraviolet (UV) to the infrared (IR) on the electromagnetic (EM) spectrum. DIA is looking for an optical TTL system that is currently operational (commercial-off-the-shelf), or will be operational within 2 years. The system must meet most of the key performance parameters listed in the table at the bottom of the page. The attached document lists only examples of possible tag application methods, detectors, and illuminators. These lists are by no means all-inclusive. Creative and innovative solutions are encouraged and welcome. The document will be uploaded and may be accessed via the FedBizOpps website at www.eps.gov under the subject RFI number. The page limitation is requested to only 3 pages in order to effectively review each RFI response. Interested parties should provide responses with product/service specifications no later than 30 days from the date of this notice. Unclassified submissions are preferred. Submissions shall be e-mailed to jennifer.spooner@dia.mil or via fax to 703-907-1942 NLT 4:00 P.M. EST on 13 May 2005. Please direct any questions or concerns to Ms. Jennifer Spooner via e-mail at jennifer.spooner@dia.mil.
