Description

This project consists of rehabilitating, repairing and painting of the Splinters Cabin Trail Bridge and painting of the Lower Deep Creek Bridge located in the San Bernardino National Forest. Splinters Cabin Trail Bridbge work consists of repair and replacement of a portion of the existing steel bridge stucture and railing, as well as the addition of steel cables along existing railing. Incidential work at Splinters Cabin Trail Bridge includes gabion baskets, cribwalls, and structural concrete construction. New bearing devices at the abutments will also be installed. SPLINTERS CABIN TRAIL BRIDGE is located in section 7 of T2N, R2W. From State Hwy. 173 in Lake Arrowhead, take Hooks Creek Rd. to forest road 2N26Y. Follow to 3N34 and stay left crossing over Little Bear Creek. Stay right on 2N34C and follow to Splinters Cabin trailhead. The bridge is located Northeast of the parking area. You will need a key for the gate from the USFS. LOWER DEEP CREEK TRAIL BRIDGE is located in section 16 of T3N, R3W. From Interstate 15 take Hwy 138 East to Hwy 173, just before Silverwood Lake. Go North on Hwy 173 and follow to Arrowhead Lake Road and turn North. Follow approximately 1 mile to gate on East side of road. Drive Easterly on forest road and park on top of spillway. It will be necessary to obtain a key for the gate from the USFS. The Government Estimate is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. NAICS code 237310. SBA Size Standard is $28.5 million. Contract time is 160 calendar days. Contractors must be registered with Central Contractors Registration (CCR) before a proposal will be considered. Registration can be done online @http://www.ccr.gov. OFFERS ARE DUE BY 12:00 NOON, LOCAL TIME MAY 31, 2005.
