- Description
- The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation desires to contract for a business process re-engineering effort along with the design, development, testing, and implementation of a consolidated financial accounting system. The current Core Accounting System, which is comprised of a Financial Reporting System, Performance Accounting System (governmental accounting) and Trust Accounting System (non-governmental accounting), relies heavily on manual processes to capture and maintain much of its data. PBGCs goal is to replace these three core financial systems, establish interfaces with subsidiary and non-core systems, reduce the expense and delays involved with the aging systems and outmoded businesses processes and provide an on-line (real time) transaction-based system. The contract effort may extend to a number of non-core system areas such as procurement. The system will utilize Oracle Federal Financials, including, but not limited to, the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and the Accounts Receivable components. Visit www.pbgc.gov for information regarding the Corporation. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or about April 22, 2005 with award of a contract projected before the end of fiscal year 2005. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for consideration by the PBGC.
