Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC DIVISION NEWPORT intends to acquire from the University of Maine on a sole source basis Aligorithm Development to develop improvements to signal processing algorithms. The contractor shall develop improvements to signal processing algorithms currently being executed on the NUWCDIVNPT Code 70 Digital Signal Processing (DSP) cluster architecture. The University of Maine is the only known source for these items because they are the principal designer of the Hummels continuous wave DSP detection algorithm. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the Government. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Required delivery is 30 days after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport, RI. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
