Description
Criteria for the possible replacement of Safety/Non Safety Needles and Syringes for TRICARE Puget Sound and Alaska is but not limited to the following: must carry a full product line (wide range of sizes and lengths), must currently possess or be in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA), ability to service the entire Region (WA and Alaska), must provide customer support (1-800-numbers and product representatives for each account), utilization reports, educational progra ms, clinical support, return goods policy, volume discounts, must provide your companys distribution network, must provide proposed implementation plan, product must be simple and easy to use, requiring minimal training, latex-free, clear flash chamber, c learly marked packaging, needles are interchangeable, syringes available in but not limited to luer-lok, slip tip, eccentric tip and catheter tip, rendered non-reusable after use, color coded needles to indicate size, ability to interface with needless and traditional IV tubing, product can easily be added to sterile field, safety feature provides barrier between hands and needle after use and through disposal, safety feature is an integral part of the device, engages with one hand, audible/visible change w hen safety feature is deployed, cannot alter or modify safety feature to re-expose needle, patient does not experience discomfort due to safety device, preferably a passive device, high flow rate, V-point needle bevel and optically clear barrel and radiop aque. Companies interested in participating in the evaluation and possible agreement with TRICARE Puget Sound and Alaska for Safety/Non safety needles and syringes need to reply to this solicitation NO LATER THAN 1 April 2005. All responses will include company name, POC and contact information (suggest more then one POC) and your intent to participate in this standardization initiative.
