Description
The Grand Coulee Power Office, Grand Coulee, WA, has a requirement to furnish and install one Trane Compressor, Model No. CHHN040TKD0N050A, which must be compatible with our existing Trane Chiller Model No. RTAA0804XH01A3D0B, S/N U97F03167. At this time we anticipate a sole source award to Bullock Trane Service Company, Inc., 715 N Hogan, Spokane, WA 99202, for the following item: The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials to replace Compressor No. 2 in a Trane Air Conditioning Chiller Package located at Administration Building East, Grand Coulee Power Office, Grand Coulee, WA. All work shall be in accordance with commercial and industry standards. Compressor No. 2 failed and needs to be replaced. The inspection of the system and an oil analysis indicates a severe electrical burn of the motor windings. The debris from the burn, acids, carbon, etc. has been circulated throughout the refrigerant system and must be removed prior to operating the compressor. The heat generated by the burn was sufficient to melt the seat out of the discharge service valve. Contractor will need to reclaim refrigerant charge from system No. 2, remove compressor, install a new discharge service valve and suction filter, furnish and install one new compressor on an exchange basis, furnish and install new filter drier cores, charge the system with new refrigerant and operate in a "clean-up" mode to remove residual contaminates, replace suction and liquid filters, change the oil and operate in a second "clean-up" mode, test oil for any traces of acid and evaluate if further filter and oil changes are necessary, leak check new compressor, start compressor and verify operation, perform oil analysis and provide written report to the government. If there are any other firms who can provide the specified items and support, please provide enough detail about their equipment for adequate evaluation by the Government. Any respondents should mail their office and information as requested above to: U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, P O Box 620, Code 7810, Grand Coulee, WA 99116, or fax to 509-633-9175 by March 31, 2005.
