Description
The US Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration plans to award a Sole Source Cost-reimbursement contract to the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) to perform a series of activities designed to support government traffic engineering professionals at the State and local level in meeting current and future challenges, including transportation systems management and operations. This notice is NOT a Request for Competitive Proposals. The services provided under this contract entail convening transportation practitioners from the State and local level, and engaging them in sharing experiences, practices, and knowledge related to transportation management and operations, and influencing the practices and policies of local transportation agencies. The services will also include providing support for transportation engineers and others involved in task-related activities by facilitating meetings and workshops, documenting meetings, developing reports and guidance, and providing travel services. Interested firms or organizations should identify their capabilities to respond to the work requirements stated above. Expression of interest without sufficient detail to permit an evaluation of capabilities, and oral expressions of interest will not be considered. Based upon the responses received to this notice, the government will make a decision to compete or not to compete. Any information received from this notice will be used solely for that purpose. If the FHWA receives no responses from interested parties that demonstrate a capability to perform this effort, the FHWA intends to proceed with finalizing an award to ITE. Responses must be received no later than April 11, 2005.
