Description

This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures are applicable. Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a firm, fixed-price purchase order with an estimated value of $18,422.00 to Baltimore Sound Engineering 6308 Blair Hill Road, Baltimore, MD 21209. This is for the installation of a Public Address (PA) System in SSA?s Outlying Building (Chadwick Shopping Center). The PA System shall tie in with SSA?s existing main PA system console in the Annex Building using proprietary code. The NAICS code is 238210. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, responses received by March 11, 2005 will be reviewed and evaluated. Contractors capable of providing the required commercial item(s) should submit in writing their capability statement with cost information that provide clear and convincing evidence of their capabilities to meet this requirement to denita.patterson@ssa.gov or fax to (410) 966-9310. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government.
