Description
The US Army TACOM-ARDEC is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources for a qualified contractor to provide engineering support for the Excalibur program?s aerodynamic simulation development. This effort is needed to support the development of the Excalibur program?s aerodynamic model, which is an Army responsibility. Engineering support is required to: 1. Modify and update the 7-DOF TELA simulation program with unique EXCALIBUR aerodynamic features (de-coupled fins, 4-axis Canard control system, bearing friction model, base bleed model). 2. Custom fit the 7-DOF TELA with updated autopilot model and feature of the EXCALIBUR Guidance, Navigation and Control Algorithm. 3. Make comparison simulation runs against the contractor simulation and perform flight test matching. Implement necessary corrections to 7-DOF TELA. 4. Develop documentation to support validation, verification and accreditation of simulation. 5. Develop all necessary documentation and training to meet government requirements for use of 7-DOF TELA simulation. 6. Provide consultation and attend meetings on related simulation topics as required, to include international standardization forum. 7. Coordinate effort with EXCALIBUR contractor to implement the up-to-date flight features and model modification. 8. Develop, update, refine and implement the EXCALIBUR GN&C algorithm to the Army NABK simulation. Interested sources should provide their company name, address, point-of-contact with telephone number and e-mail address, size of business (small/large) with qualification no later than 15 (17 March 2005)calendar days after the issuance of this Market Survey request to PM Excalibur, Bldg 171A, Attn: Mr. M. Burke, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 email: mjburke@pica.army.mil. This Market Survey is for planning purposes and should not be construed as a request for proposal or as a commitment on the part of the Government to issue a solicitation. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
