Description
Description: (1) Conduct two phase testing of powder compositions in M115A2 Simulator, Projectile, Ground Burst, M115A2; NSN 1370-00-752-8126 L594 and M116A1 Simulator, Hand Grenade, M116A1; NSN 1370-00-752-8124 L601 (2) Design a Safety System and v erification test on the M117 Simulator, Booby Trap, M117; NSN 1370-00-028-5256 L598: (1) Phase 1 will require manufacture of assemblies with candidate replacement materials in flash compositions designated by the Army. First article test, Statistical Process control plan, Acceptance Inspection Equipment Plan approvals for the current conf iguration of the M115 and M116 must be accomplished prior to beginning the composition replacement tests. The phase 1 tests will require a total 1160 units per simulator. Based on the test results from phase 1, the best performing flash composition will be selected for each simulator for follow on Hazard Classification and other tests. The contractor will produce (1600) M115A2 simulators and (2300) M116A1 simulators respectively and ship them to the Government or other testing facility as directed. Per iod of performance not to exceed 12 months. (2) Develop a positive safety device for the M117 Simulator. The M117 shall be redesigned to include a locking pin to prevent inadvertent removal. The device shall contain the same internal components as defined in the M117 material specification. Theref ore, First article test, Statistical Process control plan, Acceptance Inspection Equipment Plan approvals for the current configuration of the M117 must be accomplished prior to beginning this test. A total of 25 units will be tested on-site by the contr a ctor to verify function. This test will be conducted within 120 days after receipt of contract award. The testing shall include jumble testing, full setup and firing of items. An additional 600 units will be shipped to a location designated by the Gov ernment.
