Description
The Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing and delivering 81mm/120mm/60mm High Explosive Mortar Cartridges, inclusive of packaging. Potential candidates must have the production capability to provide a combination of up to 20,000 per month 60mm M720A1, M768, 120mm M934A1/M933; 81mm M889A1, M821A1 Mortar Cartridges. All facilities must have safety clearance to handle up to Hazard Class 1.1E Explosives/Hazardous components and explosive melt pour capability. It is anticipated that 120mm HE adapters, 60mm/81mm shell bodies, Comp B explosive and 60mm/81mm fins will be provided as Government furnished material. Otherwise all other components are projected to be the responsibility of the contractor. All responding sources shall provide a summary of their company?s capabilities including organizations, name/address/point of contact identification, capabilities, a description of facilities/equipment, manufacturing process, inspection capability, personnel, past experience as an ammunition load/assemble/ pack producer or systems contractor, proven monthly production capacity and/or potential capability, possible partnering/teaming arrangements; and whether the company is a small or large business. Also, proposers are encouraged to submit their knowledge, ideas, and experience in improving the insensitive munitions capability of the above cartridges or other ammunition items. All responding sources must submit their responses no later than 25 March 2005 to U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC, ATTN: Mr. Jeffrey Smith, AMSRD-ARR-AEM-M, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. All responding sources shall provide an estimated delivered unit price per cartridge type. Responses can also be submitted by email to smith@pica.army.mil.
