Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for improvement dredging of the Oak Bluffs harbor, Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. Approximately 6,000 cubic yards of clean sand will be dredged to create an entr ance channel about 850 feet long through the inlet to connect deep water in Nantucket Sound with deep water in the harbor. Dredging will be accomplished with a hydraulic pipeline dredge. Dredged material will be pumped to Pay Beach, 2900 feet south of th e inlet. The contractor must have dredging equipment on-site to initiate dredging within 30 days of the notice to proceed, prosecute the work diligently, and complete the entire work ready for use not later than 60 calendar days after the date the Contract or receives notice to proceed. The time stated for completion shall include final cleanup of the premises. Due to environmental restrictions dredging operations at the project site will only be permitted from October 1 through January 15. All dredging work must be completed within one dredging season. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 237990, with a Size Standard of $17,020,000.00. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for Small Business concerns. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or ab out 1 October 2004. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available. Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the a ccuracy of the information on the registration list. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the New England District.
