Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is an unrestricted requirement. It is anticipated that payment will be made by Government VISA Credit Card. The North American Industry Clssification System (NAICS) identifier is 5413 80 and the Standard Industry Classification (SIC) is 8071 with $5.0 million in sales. It is further anticipated that a requirements type contract with a base year and four renewable option year periods will be awarded. The following is the Statement of Wo rk: The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), Division of Veterinary Medicine has a requirement to provide molecular diagnostic testing via Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) in order to screen animal blood samples for viral diseases. The specific screening tests and estimated number required per year are as follows: Simian Retrovirus (SRV) Type D, serogroups 1, 2, 3, & 5: 400-600 estimated samples per year and; Mycobacterium Tuberculosis and other Mycobacteria species identification by ultrasensit ive PCR and Restricted Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP): 25 estimated samples per year. Alternate proposals will not be accepted. Proposals shall be clearly marked with the Solicitation number and received (e-mail addressed to: archie.cardwell@amedd.ar my.mil) not later than 1500 hrs, 16 March 2005. The Government intends to award a contract to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the requirement and is most advantageous to the Government based on technical acceptability and price.
