- Description
- The US Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command at Rock Island, Illinois will be soliciting for 4-ton and 10-ton rated long chassis automotive service jacks, sometimes called long chassis dolly floor jacks. The successful vendor will be a proven m anufacturer or supplier of professional equipment that meets the performance and quality requirements associated with the desired product and will provide a total sales history for the desired product that includes professional users such as automotive ser vice garages and fleet maintainers. Sales to the casual user and homeowner market will not satisfy this requirement. The product will be made in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Portable Automotive Lifting Devices (ASME PALD) standards, section 10, of the latest issue, May 2000. Verification of compliance with this standard will be required. The product will have a two speed hydraulic pumping system with a safety overload bypass valve that is set to bypass between 100 percent and 115 percent of the rated load. This bypass setting is an exception to the PALD standard and is required to support the intended uses. The product will also meet some additional requirements that are not covered by the ASME standard but will be inclu ded in the solicitation. This solicitation will result in a firm fixed price 5-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract. The minimum guaranteed contract quantity will be 100 10-ton jacks. The maximum 5-year requirement is 3,000 4-ton jacks and 6,500 10-ton ja cks. ESTIMATED ISSUE DATE OF THE SOLICITATION IS 24 FEBRUARY 2005. This is an ESTIMATED date only and is subject to change. No information, technical or otherwise, will be released until the solicitation is released.
