Description
NAICS Code: 541690 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Radiation and Indoor Air (ORIA), Radiation Protection Division (RPD) intends to issue a sole source firm-fixed-price Purchase Order to the National Safety Council (NSC) of Washington, DC using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain 1,000 "Radiation In Our World" resource kits to be used for RPD's communication outreach efforts targeting secondary school students. Topics covered in each kit include: radiation definitions, its history, uses, sources, health risks and benefits, and radiation management and the relevant role it plays in public health. Each resource kit contains a 98-page guidebook for students, two ten-minute videos, a companion guide for educators, lesson plans, nuclear science wall chart poster and kit evaluation form, all in a self-contained carton for shipping and teacher storage. NSC's Environmental Health Center assisted RPD in the initial development of the education resource kits under a cooperative agreement, and possesses all the graphic design negatives, multi-media items and print files for every component of the kit. As such, NSC is uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government's requirement in development and distribution of these kits. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541690. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received by the closing date of this announcement, will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to the compete the proposed requirement based upon this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Jami Rodgers via e-mail at rodgers.jami@epa.gov.
