Description

With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its intentions to award a Firm Fixed-Price Contract. The Contractor will be responsible for providing all the necessary facilities, plants, labor, t ransportation, materials, and equipment to accomplish the entire project as stated below. The project is located in and around Butler Lake, in Libertyville Illinois. The project includes the construction, operation and removing of a small dam that will se rve a sediment storage and dewatering facility for the Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration/ Hydraulic Dredging to be completed at Butler Lake; removing approximately 400-tons of existing concrete along shoreline from the north side of Butler Lake; performing woo dland restoration by removing invasive species and planting native trees for an approximately 23-acre area along the north side of Butler Lake; providing riffling by constructing aggregate and natural stone structures along both the east and west sides of an approximately 230 ft long low-flow channel just south of Lake Street; constructing three stone fishing stations along the north side of Butler Lake, were as each stone fishing station shall consist of 3 to 4 large stones, minimum 42 inches in diameter w ith at least a 35 square foot combine leveled surface sitting area at each fishing station; providing site management and monitoring the development of the native landscapes during all phases of the restoration process. Formal monitoring events shall occu r every year in late August through early October, during which time the vegetation is sampled using Floristic Quality Assessment (FQA) methodology. This will include both meander surveys of the restoration site and transect sampling. Permanent photo stati ons will also be constructed at appropriate locations; and providing aquatic herbicide services by applying 2,4-D herbicide. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990 and it is 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BU SINESS. The small business size standard for which, is a concern, including all affiliates, earning $17,000,000.00 million or less.
