Amendment 3: QUESTIONS FOR CABLE ASSEMBLIES 1. Does each cable have 2 male SMA Plugs, or just 1? If only 1, how is the end without the connector to be finished? 2. For the 18 GHz cable: what VSWR is required, what loss is required, what attenuation is required, is there any average power requirement, and finally, will the cable be used indoors or outdoors? 3. What type/kind of testing will the cables be used for? ANSWERS TO ABOVE QUESTIONS 1. The cables must be 100% compatible with Gore part # G6R01R01240.0 and G6R01R01600.0. 2. The salient characteristics of these cables are as follows: Gore G6 type cable (complete details can be found on the gore web site), which is a low loss RF coaxial cable assembly. R01 = SMA plug (M) on each end (that's why the P/N shows G6, R01, R01). 240.0 = length in inches, 240 inches = 20' Frequency of operation = 2-18 GHz. Insertion loss must be .2 dB/ft @ 10 GHz. or less (note that is point 2 i.e. 2/10th of a dB per foot). For a 20' cable this is 4.0 dB. Max. diameter of cable = .29" Qnty = 8 ea. Same parameters for G6R01R01600.0: except the cable length is 600" = 50'. Qnty = 8ea. Max insertion loss for the 50' cable = 10dB (@10 GHz.) The cables do not have to be phase matched, but any cable other than the Gore must include measured performance to demonstrate equivalent spec. compliance. Insertion loss is the most critical performance spec for this requirement as well as the max cable diameter.
