Description
The National Institutes of Health, Intramural Research Program (IRP) of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) will support a 5 year extension for a longitudinal study entitled ?Gene-Finding and Longitudinal Studies for Age-Associated Conditions in a Sardinian Population Cohort (Sardinia2). Sardinia2 is an extension of the current contract N01-AG-1-2109 with Consiglion Nazionale delle Ricerche, Cagliari, ITALY. The primary objective of Sardinia2 is to extend the studies of aging-associated conditions in the especially favorable Sardinian population with longitudinal and further genetic tests to assess both the prognostic value of trait values singly and in combination, and to move toward the identification of alleles that confer significant risk for extreme values of individual traits of interest. This scientific research service is for the Consiglion Nazionale delle Ricerche and available from only one responsible source. The period of performance for Sardinia2 is planned to begin on June 14, 2006 and end on June 15, 2011. The statutory authority for this action is 41 U.S.C. 253(c) 1 as set forth in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). This is NOT a Request for Proposal. If, however, there are any responsible sources who feel they possess the abilities which would enable them to perform this project, they may submit a proposal which will be considered by NIH. SEE NUMBERED NOTE 22.
